Application Area

It can be used for mechanical seal, chemical anticorrosion, chemical process vessel seal, machine tool guideways lubrication, bridge construction support slider and various kinds of pipe sealing in high temperature and high corrosive condition.

Until today the Whitworth Pipe Thread or in other words the joint sealing within the thread (according to EN 10226-1) has a high meaning in pipe work. Also piping systems using different joint techniques need the thread joint to connect valves, vessels, etc. Since 150 years Georg Fischer manufactures threaded malleable cast iron fittings. It is a pleasure for us to share our experience in the field of making thread joints. This video shows how to apply hemp and sealing paste properly on an external thread of a steel pipe and to connect it with our malleable cast iron fitting. With this video and some trials jour thread joints will as well keep performing 150 years.
