O-shaped sealing ring is one of the more commonly used sealing rings at present. Because of the different working conditions used, the requirements for the sealing ring are mostly different, so many types of sealing rings have
appeared, so the common O-shaped sealing ring What are the materials? Under what circumstances does it apply?
Commonly used materials include hydrogenated nitrile rubber, cyanide rubber, silicone rubber, fluorocarbon rubber, fluorosilicone rubber, butyl rubber, etc.
1, hydrogenated cyanide butadiene rubber HNBR
It has good corrosion resistance, compression resistance and tear resistance. It can also resist ozone, sunlight and oil pollution. Shore hardness is 40-90. It is suitable for O type in automobile engines, washing machines and
new ring refrigeration systems. Sealing ring, but it cannot be used in esters, alcohols and aromatic solvents.
2. Butadiene cyanide rubber NBR
The cost is low and it is widely used. The Shore hardness of 40-90 is generally used in water, silicone oil, glycol hydraulic oil and other media, but it is not suitable for use in polar solutions such as ozone and ketone nitro
hydrocarbons. Star ring is a common seal in hydraulic systems. It is a typical lip seal and can be made of nitrile rubber.
3. Silicone rubber SIL
It is resistant to cold, heat, ozone and atmospheric aging, and has a Shore hardness of 10-70, but its tensile strength is poor and it is not oil-resistant. It is generally used for O-rings on home appliances, such as Microwave
oven, water heater, electric iron, etc., water dispenser, kettle, etc.
4. Fluorine rubber FKM
It has good ozone resistance and weather resistance, good anti-aging performance, and high temperature resistance better than silicone rubber, but it has poor cold resistance. Generally used in fuel systems and O-rings in
chemical plants, it is not recommended for use in ketones and nitrate-containing mixtures. Star ring is a common seal in hydraulic systems. It is a typical lip seal and can be made of fluorine rubber.
5. Fluorosilicone rubber
Fluorosilicone rubber combines the advantages of silicone rubber and fluorine rubber. It can resist the corrosion of oxygen-containing compounds, fluorine-containing solvents and aromatic hydrocarbon solvents. It has good
resistance to oil, fuel oil and solvents. O-rings generally used in military and aerospace fields are not recommended for use in brake fluids and ketones.
6, butyl rubber
It has good heat resistance and air tightness, can resist the damage of sunlight, polar solvents and ozone, and has good insulation. It can be exposed to oxides or animal and vegetable oils. It is generally used in O-type seals in vacuum
equipment and chemical resistance. It cannot be used with petroleum, aromatic hydrocarbons or kerosene.
